Jen is currently based in Eastbourne where she has a healthy private teaching practice and also teaches in a couple of schools around the Eastbourne/East Sussex area.
Jen teaches all ages and abilities from beginner through to advanced level. She has a diverse range of pupils that she currently teaches - from as young as 4 years old through to pupils who have decided to pick up the violin later on in life as a hobby. Lessons are individually tailored to the pupil's needs: initially, establishing a strong technique to work from, and then moving on to musicality and the reading of music. She has benefited from years of performance work and brings her varied experience within the music industry into the lessons, making them unique and varied. Jen teaches all styles of music: classical/pop/folk/jazz along with music theory. Wether you wish to play the violin as a hobby, to improve a certain aspect of your playing, learn a new style or take exams - the benefits of learning an instrument are huge and it's fun!

Jen is kind, friendly and patient with my daughter. She has vast musical experience and is an excellent teacher. She is good at assessing a student’s abilities and interests and adjusting her lessons accordingly. She makes the lessons fun and challenging. My daughter really loves her.

Jen is very professional, encouraging, patient and easy to understand when teaching technical points. She creates a safe, nurturing environment where I can get the most out of my lessons with her, whilst managing my expectations. I have no constructive criticisms or negative comments, she is the best music tutor I've ever had, and i will happily tell anyone who would listen 🎶

Jen is a patient and friendly teacher. She has knowledge of a variety of different styles and genres of music, providing pieces and exercises that help to better understand and experience these, as well as improving my playing complex rhythms. She has clearly explained different techniques, more theory-based aspects, and how to use them in your own playing. She gives precise feedback and ways to improve, while also giving options on how to add your own interpretation to a piece of music.
